Sports Massage Zone - Peta McSharry
Cycling is booming and with an asymmetrical human attached to a symmetrical object, something is going to complain. While cycling is a great non-load bearing exercise, because bike set up has so many variables and our bodies are not symmetrical, getting to the bottom of a problem takes a good understanding of the many areas affecting our attachment to our bikes.
Four weeks before the London Marathon, months of training and hundreds of miles in the legs, this runner turned up on our door step via a referral. She was told her ITBS / runners knee was too severe and the recommendation was not to run the marathon. She'd continued running while receiving physio but there was no improvement in the injury, we changed this when she came to see us.
Are you looking for someone to treat the root cause of your pain or someone to just rub the sore parts so the pain goes away for a few weeks only? Peta will treat the root cause, our fees reflect our knowledge, experience and training, in the long run this will save you money. Tammy offers a good deep treatment, if you need injury advice or are dealing with an acute injury or a chronic one that won't go away, we would recommend seeing Peta.

We appreciate you want to shop for the best deal, it is tough to judge the effectiveness of a treatment based on price. As a hardcore endurance athlete, I don't want to waste my time or more importantly money on a massage which doesn't last more than a few days. It took me (Peta) years to find therapists who could give me "new legs" for a 400km cycle and whose treatments made a lasting difference, when I did, I hired them.
We charge what we do because we hold the highest level in the industry, we have over twelve years experience of treating soft tissue injuries or preparing athletes for events and will get you up and running in the least number of sessions needed, the benefit of our treatments will last weeks, not just a few days. But don't take my word for it.
"I wish I had come to you guys in the first instance, I went elsewhere on price but they didn't fix my problem. I saved money in the long run by using your services and the problem hasn't returned. As they say, you get what you pay for. Definitely now on my highly recommended list. Massive thanks." June
"I love these therapists, they all work to such a high standard, even when I switch between them I still get the same treatment. Worth every penny."
Many of the injured runners we treat present with identifiable muscle imbalances and flexibility issues which could have been corrected at the start of training, rather than showing up as a problem when the miles ramp up. Instead of waiting for an injured athlete to arrive at our clinic, we've taken a proactive approach with our marathon MOTs and our marathon runners come back post event with great success stories.
